juliet, robbie, and the blonde go to goa

we left bombay (above); the stink, the smoke, pollution, haze, slums, nastiness and headed to goa (see below). r and j originally thought they wanted the 'true indian experience,' so we booked a train for the trip. trains tend to be cockroachy and the toilets are basically just holes that empty out onto the tracks... but they can be a great way to see the countryside and you can buy all the cheap chai you want. it's about a 12-hour ride, and ours was scheduled to leave at 530am. we were up around 3, got a cab, and headed downtown... only to find that in true india fashion, the train was at least 4 hours late. we were directed to a travel agent who very conveniently was located just outside the station, and who probably makes an absolute killing off people in our exact situation. for not much money at all, we got plane tickets for a flight leaving in 4 hours. even with the (what is starting to seem compulsory) 3-hour flight delay, we were still on the beach and relaxing looooooong before our train actually arrived in goa. needless to say, we flew both ways.

question: if you had to take a trip, and you had to fly, and your only two airline options were one called jetlite and one called spicejet, which would you choose?

anyway, we had a fabulous time. we ate lots, shopped, fried in the sun, got soaked in the rain, ate more, got massages that moved the table across the room, attended parties, played holi, went for early wee hour morning walks, shared about a billion belly-laughs, and then sat down for some 'boo-fay.' india is not the same without them.
