dirty brainy blonde today

for some unknown reason, the power company decided to cut the electricity to our block today... for 9 hours.  we had warning, in the form of a memo from the building management, posted like a week ago.  now, the water for our building is stored in a tank on the roof, and started to run low a few days ago.  the water gets to the roof via an electrical pump in the basement.  you see where i'm going with this... the building management obviously did not... so today we had no power, no water, and because our internet comes from the building next door which was also powerless, no internet.  allllll day.  with 96 degree heat and stifling humidity, this apartment turned into a very stinky deathtrap.  QUICK.  so we made the best of the situation, by which i mean to say we grabbed the scrabble game and headed to the nearest 5-star hotel, where we basked in the plush, air-conditioned lobby for a 7-hour, 6 game marathon.  aaahh.  

and yes, to answer your question, i did.  i kicked ASS.  4 games to his 2.
